There are a lot of young players in the J1 League that are full of promise and potential.
Perhaps they will get into the national team or seek playtime in Europe, the prime destination for football.
Now young players can be vulnerable to certain distractions and that is the reason why some of them never materialize their talent or fulfill their potential.
Having a good start to the career is a very good asset, but to continue producing the same, season in season out for years and years is a different ball game altogether.
But here is hoping, that the young stars of the J1 league do fulfill their potential and make the best of their talents!

Shinya Nakano
Nakano’s greatest strength is his precise crosses. In fact, Nakano is able to utilize both of his feet as if they were his own. His left-footed cross assisted the fourth goal in the third game of the 2021 season against Sendai.
He’s also pretty good all around. During the 2020 season, he started seven of his ten first-team games at left-back. but in the 2021 season, he started more regularly as part of a back three, i.e. at CB, and has been in the same position this season as well.
His talent is demonstrated by the fact that he has been deployed in a variety of defensive positions.
Shion Homma
Honma’s primary strength is his dribbling. His dribbling pace is quick, and he can shoot and create opportunities. The term “dribbler” is sometimes connected with egoism, however, Homma is more akin to a player who uses his weaponry for the sake of the team.
He is not a dribbler who dribbles for the sake of dribbling; rather, he is a dribbler who makes the right pass at the right time.
He is a superb shooter as well as a skilled dribbler, and his midfield shot against Mito in the seventh game of the 2020 season was selected goal of the month.
His defensive awareness is also beneficial. Alberto has been praised by supporters for his defensive abilities since taking over as manager of Albirex Niigata.
Yuta Matsumura
Matsumura’s greatest strength is his speed and how he uses it to dribble. Matsumura is a dribbler, but he doesn’t use his skill to go past opponents.
He is a dribbler, but not a fine technique dribbler; he is a dribbler who can outrun his opponent in a split second.
Matsumura was the first player to score a goal in the space of a second in the 15th game of the 2021 season, against Tosu. Keep an eye out for Matsumura’s speed when he has the ball in a one-on-one situation.
Jun Nishikawa
Nishikawa has a strong attacking instinct. His dribbling, passing, shooting, and touch are all excellent. He can also play for the club in a variety of attacking positions, including up top, on the flanks of the second row, and in the middle of the park.
He is also big and fast, making him more than simply a technical player; if he fits in with the squad and plays more games each year, he has the potential to be a great player.
He’s a player who will undoubtedly make his next breakthrough.
