Consadole Sapporo v Yokohama Marinos – Preview
Sapporo is yet to get a win in this season’s J-League.
From their opening three games, they have drawn two and lost one.
The lone defeat of the campaign thus far against Kobe in a 3-1 setback in their second match of the season.
They led once in their last game against Albirex Niigata in their most recent league game.
Niigata pulled it back level and then went ahead, but Sapporo needed a late goal to come away with a 2-2 draw which was a positive being on the road.
Sapporo sits in 15th place in the standings and will be content with another point here possibly, against an opponent sitting in 3rd position in The J-League.
Yokohama Marinos are sitting in 3rd position before any Sunday games have taken place and a win would see them move to the top of J-League this weekend.
The visitor was forced to play with ten men last time out in the only match which they have not won this campaign so far.
The 1-1 draw with Hiroshima was not a bad result considering they had to come from behind and had to play the final 15 minutes plus added time after having Nagato sent off.
They began the season with back-to-back wins against Kawasaki (2-1) and a comfortable 2-0 win over Urawa Reds in the second match.
For the meeting against Sapporo, they will be missing Nagato due to a suspension. They will aim for the win and to send them the top of the division.
